Years in practice:

17

Best known for:

Providing practical counsel in complex transactions and proceedings to sophisticated clients. This includes overseeing management and expansion of national and regional real estate holdings for clients who retain me as outside general real estate counsel, and acting as local counsel for national and international companies needing comprehensive representation in Massachusetts projects, from acquisition through land use permitting and construction.

What makes me a leader in my field:

Clients from diverse sizes and backgrounds rely on me for their real estate needs. I represent national and international corporations in transactions involving hundreds of millions of dollars, develop strategic plans for clients’ real estate assets, and coordinate with local counsel nationwide to implement those plans effectively. I also handle all manner of discrete real estate transactions in greater Boston, including sales, acquisitions, leases, easement negotiations, and municipal land use applications.

Outlook for 2026:

Real estate attorneys will increasingly rely on generative AI for first drafts of documents and land use applications. I anticipate an uptick in deals involving distressed real estate assets and related litigation. The data center sector could be significantly affected given concerns about an AI industry bubble.

Bar involvement/leadership roles:

Co-chair, Boston Bar Association’s Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Digital Law Section for two years; member, BBA Steering Committee and Annual Conference Planning Committee

Most memorable case:

Matters requiring significant teamwork to achieve client goals — overcoming well-funded opposition to secure permits or addressing complex property issues to enable acquisition with minimal post-closing risk.
