Years in practice:

21

Best known for:

Being a trusted commercial real estate attorney who gets complex deals done. For more than 12 years, I’ve served as lead counsel for every commercial lease at Patriot Place on behalf of The Kraft Group, handling retail, office, restaurant, medical, and entertainment uses. I balance legal precision with business practicality, solving problems efficiently while helping clients advance major projects.

Why I chose my practice area:

The intersection of law, business strategy and practical problem-solving. Unlike litigation, transactional practice aims to achieve a common goal — both sides want the deal done. My background as a U.S. Naval Officer influenced this path, teaching me the importance of logistics, operations, and disciplined decision-making, all core components of successful real estate development.

Most memorable case:

Serving as sole counsel for every commercial lease at Patriot Place for over 12 years stands out. Additionally, during COVID-19, I represented a life sciences client acquiring a Billerica facility for mRNA manufacturing—an intensely complex transaction involving title, environmental, governance, and lender issues at a critical moment for public health.

What makes me a leader in my field:

I combine deep technical knowledge with practical, business-driven solutions. As co-chair of Hinckley Allen’s Retail Practice and Industrial Distribution & Logistics Industry Group, I identify obstacles early and craft solutions satisfying all stakeholders. My military background reinforces leadership grounded in discipline and collaboration.

Outlook for 2026:

Expect continued evolution in mixed-use development with increased demand for flexibility and emphasis on medical, life sciences, and experiential tenants. Industrial clients navigate e-commerce and supply chain shifts, while renewable energy development accelerates.

Bar involvement/leadership roles:

ICSC, American Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association and Boston Bar Association; former adjunct professor, Boston University School of Law

Representative clients: The Kraft Group (Patriot Place); STAG Industrial, Inc. (national acquisition/leasing counsel); major retail-led mixed-use developer; life sciences clients; renewable energy developers
