Years in practice:

34

Best known for:

I would like to think that I am known to be a committed, hard-working, intelligent and fair-minded person.

Why I chose my practice area:

When I was in elementary school my dad brought me to one of his trials in Suffolk Superior Court. I thought it was so cool what my dad did for work. He was and is a great lawyer and father.

Most memorable case:

Tang v. Northrop LICSW, Weis v. Ferguson, Moniz v. Pedan – all involved complex medical issues and significant exposure with caring, compassionate medical providers. Theos & Sons v. Mack Trucks – argued this products liability case before the SJC early in my career. 25 years later it continues to be good law regarding breach of implied warranty of merchantability.

What makes me a leader in my field:

Hard work and common sense. I was raised by great parents.

Outlook for 2025:

I believe younger litigation lawyers will take a more prominent role in trying complex cases. This is a great development, and it is very satisfying to observe young lawyers I have had the opportunity to mentor make strides in their legal careers.

Bar involvement/leadership roles:

I’m a frequent contributor to MCLE and speaker at various healthcare meetings involving medical-legal issues.

Representative clients:

Medical professionals at Harvard, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Tufts Medical Center. Mack Trucks. Bechtel/Parsons Brinckerhoff, Callahan Construction, Archdiocese of Boston
