Pair of District Court judges confirmed

The on March 27 confirmed two new District Court judges, voting to seat the clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court and a Middlesex County prosecutor on the bench.

The council unanimously approved both Francis V. Kenneally and Courtney Linnehan, who were among a group of four District Court nominees Gov. Maura T. Healey put forward in February.

Kenneally has been clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court for the past decade.

He previously was a sole practitioner at Kenneally Law Office, and was of counsel at the civil litigation firm Morisi & Oatway. He originally practiced in Baltimore.

Linnehan is a Middlesex County assistant district attorney, and former sole practitioner.

She also has been a prosecutor in the Norfolk County DA’s Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Unit and Appeals Unit, and a prosecutor in the Suffolk County DA’s Office’s Child Abuse Unit and the Boston Municipal Court’s Dorchester Division.
