Former Governor’s Council member Robert L. Jubinville has entered a crowded field of candidates for Norfolk County district attorney, and his campaign raised more than $168,000 in April, much of it from his own bank accounts.
Jubinville was a council member from 2013 until he was appointed clerk-magistrate of Framingham District Court in late 2022 by Gov. Charlie Baker.
The packed Norfolk DA race already includes Djuna Perkins, Adam Deitch, Greg Connor, Craig MacLellan and others. Longtime DA Michael W. Morrissey is not seeking reelection.
To formally disclose his interest in the DA post, Jubinville filed a change of purpose notice with campaign finance regulators in March.
Jubinville’s balance includes $127,000 in loans he made to his campaign committee. He received support from a handful of attorneys, including several from Keches Law Group and Iannella & Mummolo. Governor’s Councilor Christopher A. Iannella donated $1,000 to the campaign.
Jubinville has more than $170,500 on hand, putting him above other top fundraisers so far in the race. Perkins has more than $66,000 cash on hand, Deitch has more than $126,000, and Connor has nearly $110,000.
The former Governor’s Council member ran for the Norfolk County clerk of courts post in 2024, narrowly losing in the Democratic primary to Walter F. Timilty Jr. He continues to hold his District Court clerk-magistrate position, according to his campaign website.
