Best known for:

Being a technically strong tax lawyer who takes a practical, commercial approach to problem-solving. Much of my work involves helping clients navigate complex tax issues in the context of transactions, delivering advice that is technically sound and aligned with clients’ broader business objectives.

Why I chose my practice area:

I took Tax I at Georgetown with Professor Charles Gustafson in my 2L year. Tax quickly became my favorite class because Professor Gustafson could make the coursework come alive. That experience felt like learning a new language and led me to enroll in Georgetown’s joint JD/Tax LL.M. program.

Most memorable case:

Matters involving particularly complex or novel issues where there isn’t an obvious path forward. Those situations involve collaborating closely with clients and deal teams to find solutions that address technical tax constraints while achieving the intended business outcome — the most challenging and most rewarding work.

What makes me a leader in my field:

I bring clarity and practicality to a very technical area of law, translating complex tax concepts into advice clients can act on with confidence. That starts with understanding the business context so guidance is technically sound and aligned with client objectives.

Outlook for 2026:

The rise of AI will change the way tax lawyers — and all lawyers — practice and how clients engage with their counsel.
