Landscaper injured when his vehicle collides with turning bus

The plaintiff, a 36-year-old landscaper, was injured in the early morning hours while on his way to work when his vehicle collided with the rear left side of a bus that was attempting to turn into the opposite lane of travel.
The incident was captured on video, which showed the bus stopped across both lanes in the plaintiff’s direction of travel for approximately 10 seconds prior to impact.
The defendants alleged that the plaintiff was traveling at an excessive rate of speed. Liability was disputed.
As a result of the collision, the plaintiff sustained a right tibia and fibula fracture, an arm fracture, and a hip injury.
The matter was resolved several weeks after mediation, with the assistance of the mediator.
