The plaintiff was driving with her children on a main thoroughfare in Haverhill when her vehicle was struck by another vehicle entering from a side street.

The plaintiff suffered an ulnar fracture that required open reduction and internal fixation surgery, with subsequent surgery to remove hardware. Her medical bills totaled $60,000.

One of the minor children began to experience symptoms of PTSD and was diagnosed with adjustment disorder. The minor’s medical bills totaled $6,300.

Suit was filed in Superior Court on behalf of the plaintiff and her minor child. The plaintiff’s husband also brought a count for loss of consortium.

The parties reached a combined settlement of $325,000 that was allocated as follows: plaintiff, $250,000; husband, $50,000; minor child, $25,000.
