T-bone collision at stop sign leaves driver with knee injury
$450,000 settlement
Mass. Lawyers Weekly Staff//December 26, 2025//
The defendant failed to yield after stopping at a stop sign, causing a T-bone type collision and significant front-end damage to the plaintiff’s vehicle.
The plaintiff, 27, struck her left knee, resulting in injury. An MRI showed a large bucket handle type tear of the lateral meniscus, extending from anterior horn to posterior horn with large meniscal fragment displaced into the intracondylar notch abutting the ACL. A partial meniscectomy was performed.
The defendant claimed the plaintiff was speeding, which caused the crash. The defendant also claimed a subsequent crash during which the plaintiff was riding a moped contributed to her damages.
