‘Summit’ looks at ways to increase law firm diversity
Mass. Lawyers Weekly Staff//February 8, 2019//
Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and Color Magazine partnered to present the Diversity and Inclusion Legal Practice Summit, hosted at JAMS’ Boston office. A series of speakers addressed how the legal industry has lagged in improving diversity and what can be done to change that reality at law firms. Panelists stressed the importance of training and tracking associate assignments, and suggested implementing blind resume review, updating hiring criteria, and establishing formal mentor or sponsor programs. The event was sponsored by the Boston office of Holland & Knight.
