The Governor’s Council unanimously confirmed a longtime solo practitioner with experience as a Middlesex County prosecutor for a seat on the Boston Municipal Court bench.
Councilors voted 6-0 at their April 22 assembly to approve the nomination of Wakefield lawyer Michelle D. Licciardi. Councilors Joseph C. Ferreira and Christopher A. Iannella were not present for the vote.
Licciardi, whom Gov. Maura T. Healey nominated in March, has run a solo practice focused on criminal and civil litigation since 2004. She was an assistant district attorney in Middlesex County from 2001 until 2003.
She has been a bar advocate since 2004 and has been part of Suffolk Lawyers for Justice since 2023, according to her resume, which also lists a stint with the Committee for Public Counsel Services between 1998 and 2001. She began her legal career at the firm Saltzman & McNaught in 1997, after receiving her law degree from Suffolk University Law School that year.
Licciardi was Healey’s seventh nominee to the BMC, according to the Governor’s Office.
